Goal-oriented R&D Engineer, Power Systems

The challenge: The introduction of renewable energy sources and the increased interconnection of power systems will put new demands on functionalities and performance in the areas of transmission and distribution. New hardware concepts and software technologies for the next generation of T&D system are being developed. You need specific expertise in T&D grids, including high amount of power electronic devices. It is a valuable strength if you have specific skills and experience on modelling and control of complex systems for power electric networks and converters.

As a part of ABB Corporate Research you will work in dynamic, motivated and creative teams with a wide range of experience and competence with access to highly advanced laboratory facilities. Our teams are often internationally composed and we encourage job rotation as a way to develop personal competence and to learn how to work in different cultures.

Qualifications: You need a Ph.D. or similar working experience in the field of power systems. Fluency in English, excellent communication skills and high capacity for multi tasking are essential. And you must have the potential to be a good project leader.

Our Corporate Research Centre in Västerås, Sweden, is a part of ABB's world spanning network of research centres in seven countries - China, Germany, India, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.
