The ALS Northern Europe Life Science (ALS NELF) sub-region is a part of the ALS Group, one of the largest laboratory testing companies in the world. The sub-region consists of about 350 employees with laboratories in Luleå, Stockholm, Landskrona, Humlebæk, Oslo and Helsinki.
The main services are chemical and microbiological testing of Environmental, Food and Pharmaceutical samples.

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Controller
About the position
In 2021 ALS Life Sciences in Northern Europe have set a vision to be climate neutral by 2035. Most ALS laboratories in the sub-region are already certified according to the environmental management standard ISO 14001 which previously have included emission reduction targets within some specific scopes. With the launch of this new vision its ALS’ intention to identify, quantify, report and over time, reduce all significant emission sources within the 3 scopes of emissions. The GHG Emission Controller will be ALS’ main resource working on this initiative.
This is a completely new role within ALS NELF and as such, the responsibilities of the position are expected to be diverse and potentially change over time. The main responsibilities will involve,
· Quantifying and reporting GHG emissions according to ISO 14064 and/or The Greenhouse Gas Protocol for all ALS Life Science businesses in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
· Seek and acquire third party verification against ISO 14064
· Procurement with climate neutrality focus
· Identify potential GHG emission reduction projects
· Track and report GHG emission reduction projects
· Manage GHG emission reduction projects
The position is a full-time position located at the Danderyd site. The position will start as soon as possible but will be agreed with the successful candidate. The position will be a part of the ALS NELF Finance team and report to our Finance team manager.

Profile
A university degree within a relevant field (i.e. science, finance) for the role is meriting, but not a requirement. Work experience or other relevant studies can compensate for lack of university degree.
As a successful candidate your expected to be highly self-reliant with great problem-solving abilities. You have experience of working with projects where you are the main driver. You speak and write English fluently. Additional understanding of Nordic languages is meriting. You are proficient in Excel with an understanding of how to use functional formulas. You may have experience of reading and interpreting international standards and creating local guidelines and SOPs from these.
