Greenpeace Nordic is looking for a person to take on a role as Nordic Volunteer Coordinator, to cover for parental leave. You will report to Greenpeace Nordic’s Action & Volunteer Unit Head, Sven. The position can be based in any of four Nordic offices(Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm), but Stockholm is preferred. Applicants living in the Nordic, but not close to the four Nordic offices are also invited to apply. 

The Volunteer Coordinator position in Greenpeace is embedded in the Greenpeace offices and campaign programme in Nordic, as well as in Greenpeace Nordic’s Volunteer Unit, which is responsible for managing and developing Greenpeace’s volunteering programme in all Nordic countries. Working languages for the Nordic Volunteer Coordinator are English and Danish/Finnish/Norwegian or Swedish. The position is a full time temporary position; starting as soon as possible, but latest from January 3rd, 2022 until 1st July, 2022 - with a possibility that it will be prolonged until the end of 2022. 
Main tasks and responsibilities
Nurturing, developing and growing Greenpeace's volunteer network
Manage and develop Greenpeace Nordic's online volunteer platform Greenpeace Community and our CRM systems
Connecting the volunteer network to Greenpeace's campaigns by co-creating campaign entry-points and engagement projects for and with volunteers
Develop and implement open offline engagement projects in Greenpeace’s campaigns
Recruiting volunteers with attention for encouraging a diverse cross section of society, and diversity of skills
Create written resources for supporters, volunteers and volunteer groups such as campaign flyers, handbooks, presentations etc. in English
Co-organise and host trainings and meetings for groups of around 15 to 50 people, online and offline
Contributing to the wider development of Greenpeace Nordic's volunteering programme in close cooperation with Nordic Volunteer Unit colleagues
Providing practical, hands on logistical support for Greenpeace events and actions 
Work with the Actions Unit to continue to build a sufficiently large and well trained base of motivated activists from the base of Greenpeace Volunteers


ProfileRequired personal skills and characteristicsCommitment to environment and peace and a profound identification with the values of Greenpeace (Nonviolent Direct Action, independence, international outlook, diversity and inclusion), as well as with the organisation’s mission
Preparedness to support activists who take part in Civil Disobedience and Nonviolent Direct Action
Ability to securely manage multiple tasks and to stay calm in busy times
Availability and flexibility to work outside regular working hours, including evenings and weekends
Availability for domestic and international overnight travel
Strong commitment towards engaging volunteers of all different walks of life
Strong social and team working skills


Knowledge & SkillsFluency in spoken and written English language. Fluency in either Danish/Finnish/Norwegian and Swedish in addition is a plus. 
Strong facilitation skills to lead co-creational group processes and inspiring meetings
Strong conversational and written communication skills 
Good knowledge of using common social media platforms
Knowledge of operating online platforms and CRM systems
An understanding of creating change through campaigning
Good project management skills to deliver projects
Profound understanding of the mechanics of successful volunteer engagement
Awareness of and knowledge around issues concerning equity, diversity and inclusion - and how to build inclusive engagement for volunteers
Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications, Smartsheets
Driving license is a plus


 
ExperienceExperience in developing and delivering trainings and facilitating meetings
Experience in engaging in or managing an online community
Experience in a campaigning environment or political context is a strong plusExperience in peaceful activism is considered to be a strong plus
