PARALEGAL GROUP COMPLIANCE OFFICE
Scania’s purpose is Drive the Shift Towards a Sustainable Transport System and the Scania Group Compliance team have an important role supporting the business to make the right decisions in the right way. This role will give the right candidate the possibility to influence and further develop the Group Compliance organisation and work cross functionally in an international environment by taking own initiatives and at the same time respect Scania’s well-established values and corporate culture.
The Group Compliance Function is part of the Scania Group Governance, Risk, Compliance and Data Protection function and directly reporting to the CEO and President of the Scania Group. The Group Compliance function is supporting the global Scania organization in reducing compliance risks by providing knowledge in terms of policies, guidelines, trainings and advice and by setting up respective structures and processes within the area of anti-corruption, AML and competition law and business and human rights.
To the Group Compliance function, we are now looking for a Paralegal Compliance Officer to the Group Compliance Office. The position will be based at the Scania Group Headquarter in Södertälje, Sweden. The Paralegal Compliance Officer will report to the Head of Group Compliance and will work actively with entire Group Compliance Team, several other functions in Scania and within the TRATON Group and its brands.
The Group Compliance Program Office with its Subject Experts is responsible to maintain and further develop the Group Compliance Program including also to creating and maintaining policies, develop trainings and communications.
Your main responsibilities:
• proactively contribute to the implementation and improvement of the Scania Group Compliance Program
• maintain and further develop our compliance and training concept
• coordinate common activities and synergies with TRATON and its brands
• coordinate activities within other functions in Scania based on own initiatives and on request from the Group Compliance Team
• Legal research, in collaboration with the Subject Matter Experts
• Coordination of events, conferences, news updates, etc. for different stakeholders
• Maintenance of the Intranet web site for Group Compliance
• Consolidate various reporting to management
• Keeping the Scania Compliance Community updated and informed
• support and develop a culture of compliance and integrity
• coordinate and develop compliance risk assessments
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate who has a genuine interest in business ethics topics and a customer-value focused approach. Someone who is a result-oriented team-player but at the same time able to take own initiatives and work independently. The position means international cooperation, thus effective verbal and written communication skills in English, in general and regarding legal matters in particular, are required. Do you recognize yourself in this description?
Furthermore, we find you need to have the following education and experiences:
• Legal or paralegal education, or similar
• experience in legal or compliance related topics in international law firms and/or international companies
• Experiences with creating and maintaining training and communication tools within the areas a compliance management system
• excellent structuring and prioritization skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• good collaborative skills, high integrity and an open-minded approach seeking practical and integrated solutions.
• experience working pro-actively in a responsible and independent way
• You are a good team player, having an open mind and interest in interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. We will put great value in your personality.
• Aptitude for efficient administration, and thereby also for improving the way of working for all involved in the process
• Strong drive to make things happen amid uncertainty (due to changes in laws or in their interpretation/applicability etc.)
• Interest and skill to take on a coordinating role at the Group Compliance Program Office to organize different activities/deliveries
• Practical experiences from compliance work is an advantage
