Group Construction Manager, Group Property - IKEA Services AB
About the job
The Group Construction Manager has the task to lead the Construction business in the IKEA Group. As the matrix partner for the Country Construction Managers, the Group Construction Manager, together with Group Construction team, provides support and guidance on all aspects of Engineering and Construction for IKEA’s construction projects. That includes new buildings, re-locations and rebuilds/extensions.
The task is also leading a core team of specialists and generalists. In co-operation with relevant internal Stakeholders, the Group Construction Manager is responsible for maintain Manuals, guidelines, standards and specifications to clarify at a global level IKEA’s requirements pertaining to buildings, and the processes for their construction and hand-over.
As a Group Construction Manager you are also aware of IKEA’s current business direction and needs, lead and facilitate the development of new technologies and methods.
The position is based at Hubhult in Malmö, Sweden. You will report to the Deputy Group Property Manager.

Group Property is the centre of expertise in the IKEA Group for land acquisition, construction and facility management of our properties. Together we aim to combine management (land acquisition, construction and facility management) of all IKEA properties within the IKEA Group. Group Property delivers it´s steering and support to property organisations in the countries via a matrix relationship.
The Group construction function has the task to lead the construction business in the IKEA Group. This is done by developing and maintaining guidelines, standards and specifications that serve as a common IKEA Group standard for how to carry out the engineering, design and construction of an IKEA Group building in a timely and safe manner. Group construction has further the task to identify and formalize methods of best practice within the field of sourcing, procurement and cost management of construction and design services.
About you
To be successful in the role as Group Construction Manager it is important to have a passion for doing business. You are innovative and open to new solutions according to the IKEA business idea. It is essential to have good leadership skills and you really like communicating, motivating and inspiring people. And of course – you lead by example! Furthermore you have good analytical skills, have an overall view and decision-making ability and the knowledge how to plan, organise and run projects.
You have:
an academic degree in engineering or equivalent working experience
a minimum of ten years of experience at management level in consultancy and/or contracting
experience of contract negotiations
