Who we are
The Department Side & Roof within the Vehicle Platform Unit at Engineering needs talented people on board. People with passion, energy, business sense and the drive to innovate and make things happen. This may be an excellent opportunity for you to take on a new challenge! We are looking for an engaged team member to the Trim & Glass group.

The group Trim & Glass Systems is responsible for the development of all glass around the car including trims and cappings, rails, antenna cover and lidar cover. The group consists of 23 engineers with a mix of nationalities, gender, and ages.

On the daily
As a GDL you will work with glass and plastic parts in several projects. The parts that the group is responsible for are developed at VCC, so-called build to print. You will work in cross-functional teams, and you will be involved from the start of the project until the component has been introduced in production, but also when the car is in so-called running production and changes are needed.

You will be responsible for and lead the development of our products in the car projects with responsibility for function, performance and quality. You will have the responsibility to meet the targets for the time plan, technical solution and cost. You will lead and coordinate the cross-functional team, consisting of the needed competences both within Volvo Cars and from suppliers.

Who you are
You are a structured and solution-oriented design engineer with a genuine interest in technology and with the ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time. You possess strong communication skills and are eager to work in cross-functional teams, collaborating with others. You are capable of independently performing development tasks in a cross-functional team environment. You have a very good sense of responsibility to meet targets for time plan, technical solutions and costs. You are not afraid of working in a fast changing and challenging environment. Knowledge in CATIA V5 and Team Center is meritorious.

We see that you have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Experience from glass and polymer materials is a plus. You have good experience from project leadership and coordinating cross-functional teams.
