Group Environmental Specialist & EHS Council Support

Arbetsbeskrivning

At Sandvik we prioritize Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) in everything we do, and we actively and continually work to create effective EHS systems and a strong EHS culture. While we must always be working to meet our commitments on EHS performance, we also need to have a clear vision on how EHS must develop into the future while supporting efficiency and organizational excellence in our business systems. With strong leadership and commitment, we aim to reduce EHS risks for every employee and to the natural environments in which we operate.
In Sandvik Group, we’re currently looking for a Group Environmental Specialist to join us at our headquarters in World Trade Center – Stockholm. Someone with the right skills, knowledge and attitude who’s passionate about improvements within EHS and eager to develop and learn together with us. In this role, you’ll support the Head of EHS, the Sandvik EHS Council and the Environmental Specialists across the Group. You’ll get to learn and grow as you contribute with your valuable insights and make a real impact in the company.
Your mission
In this position, you promote continual improvement within EHS to ensure that we meet all legal requirements, improve performance and support EHS both as a business advantage and as a means of attaining and retaining the best employees. The role is divided into two parts – approximately 80% with professional Environmental’ duties, and 20% to support our Group Head of EHS and the Sandvik EHS Council as its Executive Officer.
Role Description

Provide ‘Executive Officer’ support to Group Head of EHS, the SEHSCo and its Working / Task Groups, including:
Scheduling, logistics arrangements, meeting minutes, follow up on agreed actions

other internal Group functions (e.g., Group Sustainable Business, Group Marketing & Communications, Investor Relations)
external stakeholders and agencies (e.g., SBTi, EU Taxonomy)

The preferred location for this position is at our headquarters in the World Trade Center in Stockholm. However, being located in Sandviken or at another major Sandvik location in Sweden can be discussed.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with a university degree within the field of environmental science (or in another discipline that is directly relevant to the role), combined with significant experience from a similar role. Good knowledge of current environmental issues and experience from industrial operations will be highly regarded. As we’re a global organization, you have excellent skills in both written and verbal English.
You will report to the Head of EHS, who’s seated in Australia so the ability to work without ‘day to day’ supervision is important. Some domestic and international travel will be necessary.
Your personality makes a difference, and through excellent communication skills, you enjoy the interaction with people from all functions and all our locations in the world. You‘re comfortable working digitally and don't mind working with different time zones. Being a true initiative taker, you work equally well alone as in teams, paying attention to details and at the same time showing a strategic helicopter perspective.
