The Freedom Finance Group is a leading Nordic financial services brokerage group, getting known as the attractive ‘Money Helper’ for private consumers. It operates a number of consumer brands, and among them, Freedom Finance and Zmarta are the most well known. The Freedom Finance Group was acquired by H.I.G. Capital Europe, a private equity firm, in 2013 and has since been transformed from a traditional loan broker to an online financial services market place.
In 2014, the Group handled around 330,000 loan applications and facilitated more than 5 BSEK of loans in partnership with more than 45 lenders. From offices in Stockholm, Ängelholm, Helsinki and Munich, around 180 employees help consumers improve their finances. Year by year, we have delivered well over double digit growth in revenue with healthy margins and our turnover reached 250 MSEK in 2014.
The Freedom Finance Group continues to actively invest to grow the business, product portfolio, partner panel and international coverage. This includes continuous investment in current as well as new people and we are now looking for a Group Financial Controller who is eager to support our ongoing and dynamic growth journey.
You will be responsible for quality and analysis of group accounting, as well as the full set of external and internal reporting. Our bond is listed at the NASDAQ OMX Bond market, and we are therefore in need of a person who can uphold quality and make sure that all legal requirements are adhered to, while at the same time delivering top-class financial reports and analyses. The position is based at our headquarters in Ängelholm and reports directly to the CFO.
Main responsibilities and tasks
* Quality, analysis and development of the Group’s legal accounting and reporting, including ownership of group accounting policies
* Monthly closing and consolidation according to IFRS, as well as reporting to owners, Board of Directors and Group Management
* Delivery of quarterly (and annual) reports to the external market
* Leadership of the annual audit process
* Ownership of annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes
* Ensure continuous compliance with relevant laws and regulations
* Responsible for implementation and development of group consolidation software
In addition, you will be involved in a range of additional projects and tasks related to new market entry, product development, continuous improvements as well as various other growth initiatives.
As the position is new, there will be plenty of opportunities to shape the full scope of the role.
Candidate profile
* A university degree in finance or similar, coupled with some 3-5 years of previous experience either from working in a finance department or from an audit firm
* Several years of group accounting experience according to IFRS
* Familiarity with a listed company environment incl. reporting according to IAS standards
* Previous experience from working with a group consolidation system is considered a plus
* Strong analytical skills and advanced experience in Excel
* Fluent in English and Swedish, both in writing and orally (all reporting is done in English)
* Any additional language skills, related to current or potential new markets, are beneficial
