Group Leader Installation Support Group
The European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a group leader for ESS Installation Support Group in the Engineering and Integration Support division (EIS division). The EIS division is the central technical division providing transversal support and services to the ESS project and organization. Today, the existing division is divided into 4 groups: Design & Engineering; Integration; PLM & Process Support and Survey, Alignment & Metrology. The new group Installation Support Group will be established to provide support and services related to the installation phase and to prepare the transition from installation to operation of the technical infrastructure systems.

Description of main responsibilities
Directly reporting to the Head of Engineering and Integration Division, the Group Leader has to


• Build the group for Installation Support.
• Lead the team of ESS-wide installation resources (personnel and equipment) and allocate them to the various installation work packages based on needs and prioritizations coordinated by each sub-project or ESS Installation Coordinator. The team will consist of a limited number of employees and a majority of contractors during the installation phase.
• Implement required technical services, framework agreements and routines to enable an effective installation service.
• Implement general procedures and guidelines for preparation for installation and
• Coordinate procurement of personnel and equipment’s when it gives ESS advantages in terms of pricing, volumes and effectiveness.
• Prepare transition from installation to operation of the technical infrastructure systems

For these purposes he/she has to:


• Build an organization that can adapt new services and resources into the group when needs occurs.
• Collaborate closely with;

• the Installation Support Coordination group.
• the ESS Installation Coordinator, the subproject installation coordinators and work package leaders.
• building contractor (Skanska) to align ESS procedures and rules to fit under existing framework and adapt them into ESS specific needs.
• CF to prepare for operations.


• Establish and coordinate needed framework agreements for personnel and equipment’s.

Qualifications


• Bachelor in engineering or equivalent education in combination with relevant experience.
• At least 10 years practical experience from assignments involving installation of complex equipment in multi-disciplinary industries/facilities with more than 5 years in leadership positions.
• Experience from planning, coordinating and leading installation of large and complex systems/components.
• Adaptability, good communication skills and the ability to identify issues and proactively work to solve them are necessary to perform well in this position.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisites; knowledge of other European language(s) would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s provisions, “AFS” is desirable.
• Experience from working with strategic issues and organizational structures is an advantage, especially in an international environment.
• To be successful and perform well in this position you have demonstrated good leadership and training skills. You have a strong ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
