Group leader position in Plant Metabolic Engineering open at UPSC See complete advert: www.jobb.umu.se Assistant Professor in Plant Metabolic Engineering We are primarily looking for a candidate at the Assistant Professor level with a Ph.D.in a relevant field such as biochemistry, molecular biology or molecular genetics with a well-documented competence in metabolic engineering.The application should contain a research plan with a strong basic science approach addressing metabolic engineering on energy related aspects.The position is for four years and may be permanent after successful evaluation of the specific research project and the Bio4Energy program.Qualifications A person who has taken a doctor's degree or who has a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate shall be qualified for appointment as research assistant.Priority should be given to candidates who have completed their degree no more than five years before the last date for applications.Evaluation The applicant will be evaluated upon the potential to establish a successful research group in the specified area, including following criteria: Research program Publication profile and competitiveness for external funding Technical experience and scientific skill Leadership abilities.Application The application can be submitted either electronically (MS Word or PDF format) or in hard-copy form (two copies) and should contain the following items: * A curriculum vitae, * A publication list, * A list of persons (with contact details) willing to provide oral or written recommendations, * A statement of previous research achievements and teaching merits, * A research plan (maximum 4 pages), * Copies of degree certificates, * Reprints/copies of selected publications (maximum 5), numbered according to the publication list.Note, in order to be considered, applications must include copies of reprints.If the application is in paper form, all items above must be submitted in two copies.Applications will be discarded or, if the applicant so wishes, returned two years after the position has been filled.Documents sent electronically should be in MS Word or PDF format.
