Profile Summary:

A senior experienced Release Manager/Planner/Project Manager
who has worked extensively in Agile (and Waterfall) organizations ensuring that releases move smoothly through all the stages of the SDLC from planning to end deployment. Working with senior representatives of all the major players of the SDLC process, your role will be to:

- ensure that releases are planned well in advance of starting. This will include working with product owners to ensure that product backlogs are mature enough to be added to release backlogs and help plan the distribution of stories from the product backlog to release level backlogs

- co-ordinate with business, development, quality assurance and operations teams to ensure that releases meet all the necessary milestones and are delivered when they should be

- report the status of releases, issues etc. to the appropriate organizational stakeholders

- work proactively with teams to resolve any issues that might hinder releases

- be proactive in suggesting and/or implementing any changes which might help improve the overall release process

- be able to take leadership when necessary to "get things done"


Essential skills/Experience:

- Release Planning in an Agile environment working on several release trains at once

- Working as a Release Manager/Release Coordinator in an organization with a service orientated architecture where you will be required to work with different vendors simultaneously

- Excellent meeting facilitator

- Work with other business units/vendors to ensure they deliver any necessary outputs in time

- Crisis management for releases (if needed)

- Excellent understanding of Agile - planning & execution

- Team player, but able to make the decisions when needed

- Degree or higher-level education


Desirable skills/Experience:

- Knowledge of SaFE (Agile Planning Framework) an advantage

- Knowledge (and/or experience) of retail sector & procurement

- Experience working in retail web development projects/releases

- Knowledge of story breakdown techniques
