Testing, Verification and Materials Technology (VT&MT) is responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of test and materials technology laboratories.
We co-operate closely with product owners and technology owners in different functions. VT&MT is part of Powertrain Engineering, Group Trucks Technology (GTT) located in Gothenburg.
Within VT&MT, Materials Technology is an expert function serving Volvo Group and selected external customers in the field of applied materials technology. We offer competence and development resources for product and process development. We have a modern and well-equipped laboratory for material analyses and for testing of materials properties. Our specialists work globally in the whole product lifecycle from early phase development to maintenance. In our team, we value the strength given by differences in background, knowledge, age, gender, and nationality.
Cast Materials & New Technologies is one of two groups within Materials Technology.
This is what you will do
As the group manager for Cast Materials & New Technologies you have the privilege to lead a group of passionate engineers who enjoy what they do. The group is built by teamwork and engagement, having fun together and supporting each other in our daily work.
In this role you are expected to continuously drive the development of individuals and technical teams as well as to contribute to the development of the organization as a whole. You will work in close connection with the group manager for the other Materials Technology group. Together you are responsible for the operation and development of Materials Technology.
You will also have the opportunity to influence processes and way of working in the Verification, Testing & Materials Technology management team.

Other qualifications are:
You are holding a University/Master degree within materials science engineering mechanical engineering, physics engineering, chemical engineering or similar experience.
You have proven skills of leading technology as team leader, line manager or project manager.
You have experience from metallic materials.
You have experience from work in industry, materials laboratory and work environment related issues.
You also have to be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
