Group Manager – Driver Assistance & Vehicle Dynamics

In recent years, the need for Driver Assistance Systems and the systems interacting with it has been intensified both in expectations and complexity due to legal requirements but also in effort to maintain our position in front of the competition. The opportunities and challenges that lies in front of us in this domain are therefore not only interesting but will also give you and your team the ownership to shape how the Volvo Buses roadmap in the area should look like.

The team that you will be leading currently consist of 11 committed engineers with different professional backgrounds, competences and interests. You, together with the team, are responsible to prioritize, commit and deliver on all initiatives within driver assistance & vehicles dynamics.
Being part of the Electrical & Software Architecture (ESA) department, you will also be a part of its management team where leaders from all segments within the electrical department meet and shares experience and support each other in order to reach our common goals and vision. Together, we secure knowledge transfer and competence development in an effort to become even higher performing teams with passionate people.

What can we propose?
You and your team will contribute to our world-class development and integration of advanced driver assistance and vehicle dynamics systems with the aim to reach the Volvo Group safety vision: Zero Accident.
As group manager, you will be the product owner in the area and main responsible for the deliveries as well as working proactively with competence development to assure that the team has the right competence that is in line with the strategies. Working in an agile set-up, you will have an operational product owner as well as a teamleader who will support in the operational day-to activities. This in order to give you the opportunity to also focus on stakeholder management and creating a culture to support continuous improvements to empower the team.

A competent and experienced leader who inspires others and creates energy.
B.Sc. or higher education in Electrics or Electronics Engineering or similar is expected as well as a previous experience in driving changes in way of working. You bring also strong leadership skills, high integrity and a proven ability of building engagement and developing people. You have excellent communication skills and a proven ability of building long term relationships with employees, internal stakeholders as well as external relations.
Main area of responsibility:
You will play an important role in achieving our Driver Assistance & Vehicle Dynamics roadmap and wanted position and your main responsibilities are:
Responsible for the End-to-End delivery within the Area (product owner)
Create and nurture a product ownership culture
Develop, retain and empower both team and individual team members
Continuous improvement
