Polestar is on a blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. We are currently looking for a Group Manager EE Platform Technologies. Your broad automotive experience within Base Technologies and Vehicle Mode Management will be valuable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction. What you’ll do
The Project & Enablers team is a part of the Polestar R&D organization. The team’s mission is to deliver Processes, Methods and Tools used for electrical & software development and verification. The team is also responsible for managing the Polestar vehicle projects on behalf of electrical department as well as providing EE platform technologies to the R&D teams.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Successfully deliver EE platform technologies for multiple programs, on time and to meet or exceed cost, design, and quality targets
- Support the Group Lead and the Head of SW&E to define the vision, goals, and expectations for EE platform technologies domain
- Build and develop teams and sub teams, including securing necessary resources
- Support and coach team members to evolve and grow in their roles
- Define methods, tools, and processes to ensure maximum efficiency
- Develop future strategies and technology roadmaps including highlighting new technology developments required to deliver new product content
- Build a team to handle technical discussions with suppliers, internal teams and partner OEM(s) including support and monitoring of integration of existing electrical technologies into new vehicle programs
- Prepare status reports and feedback to the project & line management teams
- Act as the company ambassador for the EE Platform Technologies team.
Who you are
You have a strong will to create the future of electric vehicles. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven. You’re not afraid to try new approaches and out of the box methods. You are eager to find solutions even if the path forward is not straight. You are talented and good with numbers and have no trouble finding facts and figures.
To be successful in this role, we believe you have:
- At least 10+ years of previous relevant experience in electrical & software development within the Automotive industry
- Previous line management experience or equivalent in a leading role
- Excellent communication and co-ordination skills
- Good understanding of Automotive Electrical system
- Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro-mechanical, Automotive, or similar engineering degree. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant experience may be considered.
Desired Experience, but not a must:
- Practical experience of vehicle electrical architectures based upon Ethernet, CAN, LIN and Flexray is highly desired.
- Previous experience within one or more of the VMM, Basetech, EMC & ELP areas.
- Experience of the full product lifecycle, from concept through to vehicle launch.
- Previous experience with Volvo, Lotus, Geely or CEVT projects.
- Experience of Automotive product development systems (VPDS, FPDS, GPDS, NPDS etc) and release processes within the automotive sector.
- Experience of delivering electrical systems in accordance with Safety & Security requirements.
