The Electrical & Electronics Powertrain department has the worldwide responsibility for the Electronic and in-house Software Platform and associated Toolchain used to develop driveline ECUs covering a large set of applications ranging from Combustion engine, transmissions to full electric vehicle management. We serve all brands/JV/partners of the Volvo Group with our solutions. We in-house develop the whole software on all new technical solutions for our future vehicles, while continually adapting our current products to meet market demands.
In this position, you will join a well-functioning and healthy E&E management team where we care for each other’s and work as a team. You will also lead your Team who develops, verifies, and maintains our software low level core drivers and the Platform Software for the ECUs in our Electromobility portfolio and Fuel Cell Electrical Vehicle.
Responsibilities / Main tasks
You are managing skilled Software Engineers who are part of X-Teams in our Agile Train. The Train embeds both Software and Hardware ECUs development activities. As Group Manager, you have the technical responsibility for the Electrical platform Software components over their complete life cycle, developing those through your Team in an Agile Environment. You are also in charge of developing tests & methods together with your Team to secure quality in our deliveries. Your responsibilities will include the securement of software platform support for ECUs in our Electromobility and Fuel-cell Portfolio.
In your role you are an active part of developing a competitive work environment for our employees and you develop your team’s competences to secure that we grasp and master the evolutions of the ever moving and fast Software world.

You have worked with mechatronic systems, ideally in electromobility, you know how a control system is done. You have a creative mindset, inspire, and challenge your organization. You have a true can-do attitude and a personal drive to reach the objectives set, understanding how these contribute to the Volvo Group vision and strategy.
We believe this is a position for you who have the ability to work in fast moving conditions and who create a successful working climate in these situations, collaborating successfully within Teams & Stakeholders. As a person, you have the technical know-how combined with good people management skills and a strong belief in empowerment. You have a strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams for them to achieve great results.
You will lead a team consisting of approximately 12 employees.
Additional Information
Bachelor's degree in electrical, engineering computer science, or similar
You have a proven experience in leading a team.
You have a proven experience embedded software development
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Experience in agile
Experience of SW development in the field of mechatronic systems, Electromobility or FCEV is a merit.
