Who are we?
The Chassis Gothenburg department has the mission to maintain and develop the premium Volvo trucks, such as our FH/FM/FMX products. We take full product ownership of complete chassis and work as “front face” towards the Volvo Brand. We drive the deliveries by close cooperation with technology streams and utilizing global architecture, components and interfaces to a very high degree.
The organization is now set to take the next steps with product ownership, by introducing new ways of working and high agile pace in delivering product improvements.
All groups are tasked to cope with challenging deliveries in the coming years meeting C02 reductions, new legal requirements and introducing new technologies such as electro-mobility, while working to create and maintain a culture of passion and trust, where we work together and support each other in our daily tasks.
What will you do?
Taking on this position as line manager for Exterior noise you will be the product owner for chassis mounted noise shields and feature responsible for exterior noise for GTT.
You will work actively to support the team and the network of colleagues. We work with an agile approach with mixed teams working world wide. As manager you will systematically remove roadblocks and secure deliveries, and together with the team and cross-functional stakeholders drive continuous product improvements. As part of the Chassis front system and performance management team, you will keep focus on customer value, secure field quality and set strategic directions. You report directly to me, the section manger.
As a product owner you are responsible to take an active role as core member in the Vehicle Development team “Chassis front system and performance”, that drives and takes decision for the cross functional work.
The Exterior noise team consists of about seven engineers and analysts all located in Gothenburg. The team also delegates tasks to both CUR, BGL & a satellite in Spain. The collaboration flourish through a mixed agile team set up driven from GOT. The team collaborates also close to the Noise laboratory.

To be successful we think you have:
Several years of experience in at least one of the following fields: Chassis or Powertrain engineering, CAD, product development or testing
A strong urge to develop your engaging leadership by driving a technical product/competence area
Excellent Product Knowledge, including good understanding of KOLA variants and complexity
Extensive network within Engineering, as well as cross-functionally and the Volvo Brand
A track record of keeping deliveries
Skill that is of great value
Acoustic knowledge
Sound absorption
Virtual acoustic simulations
Noise testing
