Position Description
Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis, HVAC, Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.
Volvo Buses is now seeking a Group Manager for Vehicle Dynamics and Pneumatics within Chassis & Driveline Development who has the drive and passion to contribute to Volvo buses profitability and who sees that the key to success is to develop people and technologies to have products meeting future needs.
The group is responsible for development of suspension systems including none driven axles, brake system, steering system, wheels and tires and pneumatic system.
The size of the group is about 11 engineers in Gothenburg and 4 engineers in Curitiba working in the technical area.
Main tasks
You will have the responsibility to develop the group and the people to support future needs contributing to Volvo Buses profitability. Within this responsibility you will need to define, agree and communicate and execute strategies and targets for the group. In this position you are the product owner of the technology area, where you will be part of delivering technical solutions to start cost, maintenance and advances engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets. Prioritization and direction setting for short and long term acitivies are part of your day to day activivies. You will need to secure good networks within and outside of the Volvo Group
In this position you will also be part of the Chassis & Driveline Development management team, and report to Director Chassis & Driveline Development.
Are you a match for us?
Business oriented with a clear customer focus, preferably from automotive
University degree in engineering or equivalent and you have previous leader experience
Holistic view and ability to work cross functionally and build strong relations
Experience from product development project management
Ability to recruit and develop effective teams were people take pride in being responsible for their complete deliveries and create a knowledge growing organization
