Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
We have a vacant position as group manager for the group Material Technology Chassis, YTMD. The group consist of two teams, one responsible for fasteners and the other a metal team working with aluminium, high-strength steels and weldings. The group consist of 10 experts and a couple of consultants are also supporting the teams.
The development in these areas is evolving fast with new demands for our products and we are responsible to provide our products with the best solution and also develop these. We work closely and collaborate with departments at R&D but also with the production and purchasing departments.
To be able to deliver state of the art, we also have a broad collaboration with academia, research institutes and suppliers to maintain good external monitoring and high competence towards our customers at Scania.
The group is part of Scania Material Technology, YTM, which consists of about 56 employees and belongs to the sector of Modularisation and Enablement under Industrial Operation.

Your work tasks
Responsible for Scania's strategy regarding material technology within the chassis group.
Responsible for external monitoring, method and process development.
Lead the group and run the business at YTMD
Responsible for the group's improvement work and customer relationship
Participate in the YTM management team
Your profile
• To succeed in this position, drive is required as well as good collaborative skills and interest in developing employees.
• Your contact areas will be many and therefore you need good communication skills.
• You enjoy challenges and see them as an opportunity to influence the future.
• You have a master's degree in engineering preferably in materials or equivalent and have good knowledge of both Swedish and English.
