JOB DESCRIPTION
Platform Development is a function within Global Bus Technology at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Electrical & Software Architecture and Chassis & Drivelines.
Volvo Buses is now seeking a Group Manager for Wiring Harness & Low Voltage within Electrical & Software Architecture who has the drive and passion to contribute to Volvo Buses profitability and who sees that the key to success is to develop people and technologies to have products meeting future needs.
The group is responsible for development of systems and components within the wiring harness and low voltage areas. System responsibility includes Low Voltage, Power Topology, Energy Storage, Power Balancing. The group is responsible for wiring harness and components (brackets, clamping and protection material), packaging of wiring harness and 24 V power cable and components, alternators, 24 batteries and power cables, battery sensors and fuse boxes.
Function responsibility for Power management, Power & Ignition, Alternator control, Voltage measurement & indication as well as wiring harness topology (harness architecture) and EMC certification is also part of the group responsibility.
You will have the responsibility to develop the group, technology and the people to support future needs contributing to Volvo Buses profitability. Within this responsibility you will need to define, communicate and execute strategies and targets for the group. In this position you are the owner of the technology area, where you will be part of delivering technical solutions to concept, industrialization, maintenance as well as advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets. We are organized in product teams with operational product owners and scrum masters and we use agile methods in our way of working. Together with operational product owner and scrum master for the team you will ensure a good workflow. Prioritization and direction setting for short- and long-term activities are part of your day-to-day activities. You will need to secure good networks within and outside of the Volvo Group.
Since we are a smaller company, we all work with broad responsibilities and cross-functionally through the entire company, across many different departments, cultures, and competence areas. This position will be no different, coordinating with other development teams and stake holders here at Volvo Buses and within Volvo Group will be important.
In this position you will be part of the Electrical & Software Architecture management team and report to the Director of Electrical & Software Architecture.

You will be part of the management team for this department consisting of around 100 skilled engineers. Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture is a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses which is responsible to integrate Volvo group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short- and long-term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus. In close cooperation with colleagues at different departments, we are supporting each other in reaching our mission in helping millions of travellers reaching their travel destination. THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
We see that you are business oriented with a clear customer focus, preferably from automotive. You have a technical knowledge within the electrical area with a university degree in engineering or equivalent. You have previous leader experience with the ability to recruit and develop efficient teams. Experience in working with agile methods, way or working and organisational setups can be helpful.
