"Development, Manufacturing and Logistics/Customs" team is part of the IPS IT purchasing team. The team consists of buyers located in Sweden and France and they have individual purchasing portfolios supporting different segments and stakeholder groups within Volvo Group.
The purchasing segments that are covered by this team are IT solutions for engineering and product development, Manufacturing and Logistics purposes.
In this position, you will be responsible for one or more purchasing segments and report to the Manager Development, Manufacturing and Logistics/Customs.
The role description
As a commodity buyer within the IPS IT commodity, you are in the forefront of the journey aiming for high performance and finding opportunities through new technologies and digitalization.
You drive and manage performance of your portfolio from QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, Technology, Sustainability and Risk) stand point and have a global responsibility for a certain segment, manage supplier relationship, cross functional collaboration and drive supplier negotiations.
As a commodity buyer you have an end-to-end responsibility for your portfolio meaning that you will work with maintaining and developing existing supplier-base as well as driving sourcing projects to identify, evaluate and appoint new suppliers.
Main Responsibilities:
Drive global segment sourcing negotiations/activities
Manage the overall supplier relationships and implement the global segment strategies
Contribute to KPI target fulfilment and Portfolio Management in your domain
Be the Supplier Host for selected key or strategic suppliers and implement the supplier governance model
Perform contract negotiations and optimization from a QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, Technology, Sustainability and Risk) stand point
Maintain and develop market knowledge in your domain and perform benchmarks when appropriate
Implement new ways of working and tools that bring efficiency and performance to your domain
Secure needed interactions with cross functional teams
Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values

Competence & Experience:
University degree in Engineering/Technology/ IT /or Business Administration
Minimum 2 years of experience as a buyer
Experience in IT Software is a plus
Interested in future business trends and technologies
Ability to go from the holistic strategic view and into the details and be able to deal with complexity
Ability to create networks and to lead cross-functional activities within multi-cultural teams
Good presentation skills
High level of integrity and trust
Teamplayer
Fluent English
