announces a position as
Guest lecturer in Computer Science
at the Department of Computer and Information Science, the Human-Centered Systems division (HCS).
Duties: The position involves teaching, research and administration. It is also the senior lecturer's responsibility to follow developments in his/her own area and developments in society that may be significant for the position.
The tasks for this position include teaching in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses. These courses lie in the intersection between computer science and interaction design, e.g., cognitive science, service design and human-computer interaction. The tasks also include research and research management within related areas, including applied research.
An applicant should have internationally documented and reviewed scientific production within interaction design. The applicant should also have experience of and knowledge in working with expressive techniques, such as sketching, prototyping, story-boarding, and enactments, as well as technical realization of interactive systems and services.
Experience from working with design students at an advanced level, especially in a studio-learning environment, is a merit. The position requires that the lecturer applies for external funding within the research area.
Qualifications: For this position a PhD or equivalent is required as well as teaching skills.
As particular qualification applies the ability to teach in Swedish and English. Successful applicants who do not already speak Swedish are expected to participate in Swedish classes and within 3 years reach grade three of the Folkuniversitet classification.
The position requires of the applicant to have a background in computer science in combination with cognitive science. Practical knowledge in interaction design is a merit. As interaction design is a multi- and cross-disciplinary subject the applicant should have understanding and interest in several perspectives on the subject area, such as social scientific, technical, aesthetic and cognitive perspectives.
For this appointment, if other merits are deemed similar, female applicants will be given priority.
