We are looking for a Hardware and software engineer for our electrochromic technology, ConverLight?. The position is an important role within the company, reporting to the CTO, and is responsible for the development, project planning and final installation at customer site, ensuring top quality delivery precision to our customers.

ChromoGenics is a global leader in developing and producing dynamic glass with controllable optical properties. Our unique proprietary electrochromic technology, ConverLight?, provides dynamic solar protection for increased indoor comfort and energy efficiency.

ChromoGenics is located in Uppsala, Sweden. The current 3000 m² production facility includes climate-stabilized cleanroom facilities, production lines for ConverLight glass laminates, testing facilities and a center for high-tech smart materials.

ChromoGenics was founded in 2003, building on more than 20 years of research on electrochromic materials at the Ångström Laboratory at Uppsala University. The company has more than 20 employees and the main investors are K-Svets Venture AB, New Energy Solutions II K/S and Volvo Group Venture Capital AB. The plant has been partly financed by a conditional loan from the Swedish Energy Agency.

Job Description

The core role will be to take the development of our Window Control System (WCS) to the next level, but also to ensure coordination, planning and execution of installation at customer site with the aim of accelerating time-to-market.

Tasks and responsibilities include, amongst others:

Window Control System (WCS):
Ensure compatibility with existing Building Automation Systems
Installation of ConverLight WCS into buildings at customer site
Improve WCS functionality, such as user interface, remote control, service routines etc.

Test:
Improve the existing test system continuously
Manage development projects of new test systems
Manage/Develop field test control system

Data handling:
Develop cost efficient methods and plot tool to store test data
Log data from WCS and test system

New products:
Develop control units and systems for new products, such as automotive, aircraft and eyewear applications.

Cost control:
Drive operational excellence in best practices, benchmarking, quality principles, world class technology and tools, productivity, and analytics
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to establish both trust and drive in productivity improvements


Job Requirements

Capable of multi-tasking and establishing strong working relationships in cross-functional teams
Experience from embedded systems
Fluent in English and Swedish
Master or BSc Engineering
The position requires travelling
