Working as a Hardware Design Engineering you will join our interesting industry together with a skilled group of engineers and contribute to complex projects. In this role you will be a part of our team delivering HVDC power transmission projects, where you are responsible for the Hardware in our Control & Protection systems.
Our MACH system is a real-time, high-performance control system platform, developed in house at Hitachi ABB Power Grids. MACH Hardware comprises of hundreds of circuit boards covering measurement, processing, semiconductor controls and the digital signal interface used in our power electronics solutions. For this bespoke hardware we are the ones designing its layout and connection points towards the control software.

Your responsibilities:
You will be making our control and protection (C&P) hardware regarding design, testing, and installation
You will work together with our customers, both internally and externally, to ensure our delivery is according to their requirements and standards
Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines
Get the chance to travel the world commissioning HVDC systems and support on site
You will be part of our Hitachi ABB Power Grids community, which means caring for our core values of safety and integrity and caring for your colleagues and the business
Within Hitachi ABB Power Grids HVDC you have a technical career path as an engineer but also a possibility to grow into several other roles within our organisation where your experience can be utilised
Background
You are a natural problem solver who enjoys meeting new challenges
Hold a Bachelor or Masters degree within engineering
Work experience from similar industry and projects is a merit
You are open-minded and straightforward in your communication with team members and suppliers
Experience with the CAD-tools for control systems, such as Engineering Base, is valuable
As you will be part of a company that operates on the global arena, it is important that you are fluent in English
