Arbetsbeskrivning
At Candela we have developed the world’s first - and so far only - electrical boat which can compete with fossil boats on speed and range. The company’s first product is the Candela Seven, a 25-foot speed boat that flies above chop and swells thanks to hydrofoils - small wings - under the hull. At 17 knots, the hydrofoils lift the entire hull above the surface, which reduces energy consumption by 80 percent compared to traditional, planing boat hulls. At a cruise speed of 20 knots, the Candela Seven is able to travel 57 miles on one charge- two times further than any other electric boat on the market and with only one-third of the battery capacity.
We are now looking for a Hardware Engineer
We do in-house development of key electronic components for our boats. These units includes multiple on- and offboard sensors used in the flight algorithms, controls the propulsion, foil and retraction system.
We have also developed the computer that runs the user interface and enables cloud connection of all boats. These components and other communicate via a CAN bus that runs through the entire boat.
Our integrated system also controls peripherals that normally are required in a boat, like pumps and lighting etc.
To be our next Hardware Engineer you need to have experience of robust electronics development, embedded systems and motor control.
Experience with SW development, Electric Vehicles, and hydraulic systems is a bonus.
The role includes:
- Hardware development, new development and maintenance of current designs
- Creation of PCB schematics and layout
- Hands on testing and evaluation of in-house and bought components
- Boat wiring design
- Supplier contacts
- Production support, development and industrialization
- Technical support for our customer service department
- Technical documentation
We believe that a suitable candidate has a Masters’ degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering and at least 2-3 years of experience from working with electronics development and integration.
Personal interests and experiences from practical experiments with computers, drones, electric vehicles, robots or similar are highly meritable.
To succeed in this role you should be comfortable in working independently taking ideas from idea to final product, have an open mind and pragmatic approach to problem solving, be accountable and hard working.
We are currently some 35 staff based in our Gåshaga facility on Lidingö and we are growing fast.
