Hardware Engineer

We now have the opportunity for a Hardware Engineer to join the R&D Team. This role will be a key contributor developing our complex alarm systems for the secure and connected smart home, including development of new alarm devices or the evolution of existing products. We are looking for a highly driven, talented and experienced engineer that can take on the role as Hardware Engineer for our alarm systems. The role requires a broad and deep level of technical understanding of electronics technologies, you must also have good social skills and really like to work together with others solving issues and creating solutions.

Our Global R&D team works on a diverse range of products and technology including intelligent camera systems, battery sipping security sensors, advanced access control solutions, bespoke user interface devices and the Verisure Central Unit which acts as the “brain” of the system enabling communications between all devices and the Verisure backend.

The role will be located at our R&D Center in Malmö, Sweden. As we are a global company with multiple R&D centers and suppliers worldwide, some travel may be required.

Core Tasks:
* Gather, analyze and break down of hardware requirements
* Setup and lead workshops for creating and documenting the Hardware Design
* Design the schematics, layout and routing of new PCBs
* Selection of electronics components to be used in new products
* Support to manufacturing process and production testing
* Analyze, design and develop tests for verifying the new designs
* Troubleshoot and upgrade existing systems
* Secure that the design will fulfill the functional and non-functional requirements as well as requirements on quality and time
* Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
* Support to certifications

Qualifications:
* BS in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
* Experience testing prototypes.
* Used to design for manufacturing.
* Understanding of digital and RF communication systems.
* Ability to document requirements and specifications.
* Passionate about the development of new products and services and experience in full cycle product development.
* Fluency in English.
* Experience in multi-national and multi-cultural environment and proven ability to create collaborative relationships.
* Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate, to anticipate constraints and identify optimization or alternative solutions.
