ABB Process Automation, Process Control Platform (PCP) develops digital control solutions for the industry including both hardware and software. In this role you will be part of a highly skilled team working with hardware (electronics) development. The team is responsible for new development of our next generation control systems as well as maintenance of existing product families like 800xA. All parts of the PCP’s R&D organization are transitioning into an agile development process where your open-mindedness and positive attitude will be paramount to your team’s success.
The role is located in Västerås and you will be reporting to the R&D HW Manager.


Your responsibilities
Electronic design including whole process from ideas and specification to test.
Together with your team, you will create high-quality and future-proof products.
Investigate and resolve customer issues related to hardware.
Tasks both in development as well as in maintenance of existing products.
Partake in your team's work planning and evaluation activities. (Scrum-based).

Your background
A Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or similar field.
Minimum a couple of years’ experiences in electronic design engineering.
Experience in digital and analogue design and producing electronic schematics.
Experience in environmental testing (climate and EMC) and related standards.
Experience with common instruments for Electronics and laboratory testing.
Experience with working at or with an Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider.
Optional qualifications: Field communication buses, Test framework of hardware, FPGA/VHDL, Power electronics.
