Purpose of the job
As a Hardware test engineer you will be a part of an agile cross-functional team working together on developing hardware intended for systems that controls different railway field objects such as signals, level crossings and rail switches. As responsible for the verification, you will be a very important stage in making sure that the hardware fulfills the requirements. You will also collaborate with the safety team specifically when managing safety requirements and on how to verify these.
Key accountabilities
Contribute to the definition of the verification and validation (V&V) strategy in the project plans, and act proactively for its implementation
Performing design tests on embedded systems with focus on hardware
Regression testing in order to verify design changes for products set in production
Exploratory and formal testing of electronics during design phase of new products
Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as test benches and instrumentation
Defining test plans, specifications and reports (hardware design test / failure mode test / regression test)
Performing climate and EMC tests during design qualification phase
Be a part of and manage configuration and change management related to verification activities
Required experience
Experience with electronic test and verification
Working experience in lab environment using devices such as oscilloscopes (analog/digital), power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, EMC (ESD, Burst, Surge), spectrum analyzers etc
Creating setups for hardware test and verification
Experience with writing test plans, specifications and reports
Nice-to-have experience
Experience with failure mode tests
Experience with safety related products
Experience with test automation
Cross-functional team experience working with HW, SW, System and Test engineers on product design
Desired education
Master's degree in engineering
Competencies & Skills
Good analytical skill is required
