A family owned and operated restaurant in downtown Malmo is looking for an experienced Head Chef with a track record in Middle Eastern fusion cuisine. A deep knowledge and understanding of local spices, ingredients and the food culture scenes in the region is required for this position.
About the restaurant:
We have been feeding Malmo for the past 2 years and are known for our unique dishes and authentic taste that comes from the core of the Middle Eastern culture, and also recognized with the highest reviews on all travel and lifestyle apps. Our food gets prepared using ancient recipes perfected over generations and handed down from family to another over hundreds of years. We only serve the best dishes and we have been a proud sponsor of many local events in the market.
Applicants for the Head Chef role must have a proven track record of leading exceptionally successful restaurant kitchens, a minimum three years of experience as a Head Chef/Chef de Cuisine, and the ability to train and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
About the role:
As a Head Chef, you will be the first in command in the kitchen under the supervision of the management. You will be managing and organizing the kitchen team to deliver consistent food quality aimed at creating amazing experiences for guests. You will be ensuring that all safety guidelines are followed and are in accordance to the standard operating procedures as implemented by the management and appropriate authorities. In this role you will be coordinating and supervising food and supplies and preparing menus.
Please note that this position requires Swedish or English and Arabic language, and is valid for 3 weeks from the posting date.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
● Take accountability to meet the required expectations and deliverables.
● Hands on and can-do attitude.
● Experience in creating SOP’s and training manuals.
● 8 – 10 years of culinary experience within well-known middle eastern restaurant or hospitality companies.
● Experience working with a multicultural team and managing a team
● Experience with restaurant openings – qsr, fast casual dining.
● Experience designing new restaurant openings, redesigning kitchen menus.
● Experience in concept development and creation.
● Must have a passion and understanding of plant based and vegan foods.
● Maintain the brand standards and assure a consistent production flow and Work closely with the kitchen teams and ensure all dishes are made in line with brand standards.
● Make sure all ingredients are the best of what the market has to offer
● Design new menus and introduce new concepts and creative cuisines of the highest quality to ensure that the business is always the forefront of new culinary innovation.
● Ensure that food quality is consistent with company standards, by conducting frequent quality checks of dishes to ensure that the kitchen is providing the best service possible.
● Collect and analyze best market practice to bring new and innovative ideas when developing menu cycles so we are seen as a progressive and forward-thinking company
