What are we looking for?

As the Head of Accounting, you are responsible for making the maximum contribution to the company's growth and profitability via impeccable bookkeeping and timely financial reports.

This is a leadership role central to our growth and organization, so you cannot be a stranger to operating in fast-moving environments. Airmee's high performance bar requires that you are self-motivated and target driven, skilled in the art of accounting, able to work autonomously and take full control and responsibility for the company's bookkeeping.

You will report to the CFO and on a project basis work close together with other members of the team.

At present, Airmee's accounting function is outsourced so it will be your responsibility to bring it in-house and build it up from scratch. Hence, we expect you to have the know-how on how to implement a robust accounting system, with an infrastructure that supports different business units and countries.

Apart from managing the day-to-day bookkeeping, you will be responsible for producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and to support the CFO in developing and follow-up on forecasts and other financial tasks.

You will also oversee administrative functions relative to employees (salaries, insurances, vacation etc.) and other related tasks to ensure efficient and consistent operations.

This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is able to produce and dive into the details on a day-to-day basis while still contributing in strategic decision making. We expect you to have leadership qualities and when the timing is right, we want you to build up the accounting team.

What will you be doing?

- Management of bookkeeping, salaries, invoicing and other day-to-day economy administration, including management of payments to suppliers
- Produce customer invoices, manage account receivables and be the customers main administrative contact
- Support the CFO and other senior leaders with actuals to support the company's financial KPIs
- Ownership of aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes while implementing and maintaining adequate mechanisms and forums for reviews, decision making and escalations with finance partners and management.
- Support strategic projects and initiatives such as establishments in new markets, new business units and more
- Drive initiatives to make the accounting operations more efficient, by optimizing supplier invoices, setting up e-invoices etc.
- Responsibility for building routines and operating manuals for efficient management of suppliers, clients and company expenses
- Responsible for annual accounts, annual report and communication with the auditor and CFO (in accordance with IFRS)
- Manage the administration of Employees, including salaries, vacation, insurances, benefits etc.


What skills and experience do you need?

- Bachelor's degree required; Accounting or Finance; Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting and/or controller role in startup/fast growing organization
- Highly organized with exceptional follow up skills
- Previous leadership experience
- Previous experience in a company with 70+ employees is a plus
- Expert Excel skills
