Volvo Group Design is the design function for the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US.

We are now looking for a skilled and passionate Head of Advanced Design to join our Volvo Trucks design team located in Lundby, Gothenburg.

POSITION DESCRIPTION


As the Head of Advanced Design Volvo Trucks within Volvo Group Design you get to work across many business areas, technology streams and other functions within the Volvo Group to translate business strategy and customer needs into viable and desirable commercial solutions. You lead and support scope setting and prioritization activities and strive to secure value through, Creativity, vision, energy, passion, with integrated structure. Working collaboratively with a clear processes and an Agile way of working to empower Advanced Design team to deliver world class Advanced Design with a customer focus and human-centric way of working.

You work across a wide range of areas of Advanced Design with a deep connection with internal and external teams, where collaboration is key to deliver unique solutions, business models and customer value propositions, working along-side Interior Design, Exterior Design, Digital Design and CMF to create incredible future products, strategic roadmaps with customer focus and business cases with the ambition of driving the Advanced Design team to be #1.

REQUIREMENTS
Master’s Degree, Degree related to UX/Automotive/Industrial design.
Minimum 12 years of industry experience.
Incredible passion and proven history of Advanced design thinking.
Proven ability to lead Advanced collaborative projects with proven ability to motivate across company teams.
Proven leadership abilities and passion for people.
A strong understanding of human-centered Advanced/Interior/exterior/UX/Service design and design methodologies and process from research to development.
Excellent background of experience with planning and conducting customer research and defining business opportunities.
In depth experience of strategic development.
Experience of stakeholder management, organizational change management and change process facilitation.
Proven and exemplary abilities to build networks and partnerships inside and outside design.
Knowledge and experience of digital tools and methods.
Excellent visual communication skills to create & communicate amazing concepts and products.
Project management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English.
