Role Overview

The Head of Airworthiness & Certification reports to the Head of the Design Organization, and has broad responsibility as focal point for coordinating airworthiness, operational suitability and environmental protection matters with EASA and other regulatory agencies. You will be responsible for executing the functions of the Office of Airworthiness as defined in EASA GM No 1 to 21,A.239(a), section 3.1.4.

The Head of Airworthiness is responsible for ensuring that the Design Organization Handbook (DOH) handbook is prepared and updated as required, including co-operation with the regulatory agencies in developing procedures to be used for the type certification process, and issuing of guidelines for documenting compliance.

You will also be responsible for preparation of the certification programme and co-ordination of all tasks related to Type Investigation in concurrence with the regulatory agencies. This will include regular reporting to the Agency about Type Investigation progress including co-operation in preparing inspection and test programmes needed for demonstration of compliance.

You will prepare and maintain the master compliance checklist, and be responsible for ensuring that all compliance documents are prepared as necessary to demonstrate compliance with all CS and environmental protection requirements as well as for completeness, and signing for release of the documents.
Qualifications & Experience

- Graduate degree in Aerospace or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 15 years experience in airworthiness and certification within an aerospace OEM company environment.
- Experience with aircraft certification programs through the entire design, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25)
- Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent.
- Direct experience with the role of the airworthiness and certification office within an approved design organization.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.
- Eagerness to work with others.
- Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission.
