Right now we are looking for a head of the architects chapter. The mission is to, as a line manager for enterprise and senior IT architects, support the architects with opportunities to perform and develop and the other part of the mission is to develop architecture ways of working to ensure that the architects have the enablers needed to create value for both strategic, tactical and operational needs.
Challenge description:
Developing the competence and enable the people in the team perform and grow, as well as answer to requests for architects from the rest of Volvo CE D&IT.
Lead the development of architecture ways of working; governance, documentation, communication, planning etc...
Lead the team based on values, principles and behaviors to encourage a cultural change in line with the strategic direction.
Cooperate closely with Volvo CE Portfolio planning to ensure architecture ways of working connects well with our product teams and the portfolio dimension.
Cooperate closely with Group Digital & IT to influence and leverage architecture ways of working in the Volvo Group.
Ensure we can support initiatives, projects and product teams with architecture competence, either from the team or from partners internally or externally.
Competence:
Strong leadership skills and experience of principle- or value-based leadership.
Passionate about enterprise- & solution architecture and the value and opportunity well managed architecture creates.
Curious and the ability to understand the potential of technology and IS/IT solutions.
Experience in leading teams in current and past assignments is a merit.
Experience in building teams, including hiring, interviews etc. is a merit.
Great communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and a “can-do” mindset.
Proactively and voluntarily takes the first steps to identify and address issues and opportunities.
Experience from working in a global environment.
A growth and learning mindset.
Who are you?
You have a keen interest in developing both people and technology, in this role you will flourish as being involved in both people development as well as benefitting from your experience from working with technology. You also have hands on experience in enterprise- and/or solution architecture, with a keen and in depth understanding of how architecture can be used to drive business value.
As head of architect chapter, you need to have the ability to create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation and manage both your direct team and the members in the extended team (from Volvo Group Digital & IT and others) in accordance with the core values in the Volvo Way.
Since you are responsible for a team with cross functional responsibilities, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders both regionally and globally and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment. It is important you have an innovative and creative mind-set in order inspire and challenge the organisation. You also have a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your team, understanding how these contribute to the Volvo CE vision and strategy.
