Head of Business Planning & Business Office

Head of Business Planning & Business Office

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for our Head of Business Planning & Business Office at Volvo Autonomous Solutions: Would you like to be part of defining and driving the development of the future autonomous transport solutions for the Volvo Group? Are you a passionate leader who loves to define, develop and implement business planning processes and works cross functional with partners, customers and colleagues around the world? Are you the one who thrives being accountable for the overall governance framework for our business area, ensure its fit for purpose and creates the right accountability and oversight?

Then you might be the Head of Business Planning & Business Office that we are looking for!

Partnership being the new leadership is an important way of working at Volvo Autonomous Solutions and we know that we need to partner up to solve the big technology opportunities we see ahead. For this reason, we have entered into partnerships with developers of autonomous driving systems like Aurora. But in parallel, the V.A.S. technology organization is responsible in developing our own virtual driver for the confined segment (e.g. quarry, mines and industrial material handling).

This is the role

As we are a start-up inside the Volvo Group, we desire a hands-on, creative, “roll up your sleeves” individual that will help us build our company. As such, this individual will be responsible for bringing together crucial pieces of information such as business priorities, key milestones & respective delivery, technology development, operational performance, innovation and market development. You will use various sources to define and own the business planning process, and alongside the executive management team you will drive the process to ensure that delivery is timely, focused, and value adding. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and connect cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of our execution plans. This requires you to inspire trust and confidence in your colleagues and management.

This role is also responsible for the business office function, in which you oversee and periodically review the overall governance framework for the organization; ensure it is fit for purpose and provides clearly accountable decision making and oversight. This includes to provide support to the Head of V.A.S., including creation of agendas, collation and distribution of information packs and liaising with relevant business colleagues inside and outside of V.A.S. You will also work closely with the Head of V.A.S. in supporting the strategic and operational agenda, you will assist with everything from leading strategic development efforts and high-profile projects to operational support.

For both responsibilities, business planning and business office - you can rely on an existing team of ambitious and talented employees.

The role requires both, technical and interpersonal competencies - how you do things is however often more important than what you do. The success in this position demands a strong strategic and questioning nature, coupled with sound understanding of the technology drivers and good communication skills, as well as a highly developed collaborative nature. Vision, energy, enthusiasm, and focus are required, but also contextual sensitivity and the ability to work effectively across a broad spectrum of people. Developing a strategy or a business plan is one thing, to have it embraced and executed is something else.

As a leader in our company, your behaviors exemplify our company values: Trust, Customer Success, Passion, Change and Performance.

The position is part of the EMT and reports to the Head of Volvo Autonomous Solutions.

Who are you?

You have probably worked with business planning activities on a senior level before and have several years of experience from setting long-term business plans in a complex and changing environment, and can demonstrate an ability to transform strategy, processes and guidelines into hands-on activities.

You are a respected leader with high integrity and credibility. You are passionate about performance excellence, team building and are a professional and relatable individual who forms strong and lasting connections with others.
You have the ability to visualize, inspire and co-ordinate the business agenda throughout an organization, and you make sure your colleagues and partners are convinced and excited to put plans into action. To execute well in this role, senior-level writing, communication and presentation skills are essential.

You have a natural curiosity combined with the ability to translate technology and business intelligence insights with skillful understanding of complex business issues, and you are able to turn them into clear concepts and strategic reasoning.

Your capacity to listen and create strong relationships cross-functionally is well known. You take responsibility for your own learning and continuous improvements. You bring business acumen, are flexible, adaptable, and used to work under pressure.

Are we the perfect match?

Even if you feel you do not tick all the boxes, but are intrigued, we would like to hear from you!
We can promise you great colleagues and some truly exciting opportunities: we offer you a chance to be involved in defining the future solutions within the transport and construction industry - together with a highly motivated and inspiring team of colleagues. You will work in a global environment that provides you with developmental prospects both professionally and personally. We at Volvo Autonomous Solutions want you to prosper and to be happy. If our entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, accountability and an innovative and customer-focused mindset light your inner fire, you might be the right player in our great team!

Please note that we will adopt a continuous screening process.
