Head of Communication Aeronautics

What you will be a part of
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
We always strive to be in the forefront of technology. This is shown in our product portfolio with Gripen, the smart fighter, and the advanced trainer TX as the main pilars. 
Aeronautics main site is located in Linköping, Sweden. There is an installed customer base globaly and we are constantly looking for new business opportunities in new markets. With a sales oriented organisation and a growing interest in our products the tempo is always high. The need for a rapid and well structured communication function is constant for all parts of our business. 
We are now looking for a Head of Communication to join our team! 
The communication unit is part of the group communication matrix organisation with different responsibilities. The business areas, Aeronautics being one of them, are responsible for developing consistent messages for their products and solutions as well as internal communication. There are also market areas responsible for adapting and executing communication within specific geographic markets, and corporate communication responsible for governance och overall priorities and Projects.



Your role
You shall drive and inspire exceptional communication in the organisation to support our business targets. In this position you will work on both a strategical and operational level, as well as being responsible for shaping and driving Saab Aeronautics agenda for internal, external and marketing communication. You will also be responsible for implementing group wide communication initiatives and ensure compliance to global communication guidelines. 
The focus is on the main products Gripen and TX. To communicate externally around these products but also make sure our 3000 colleagues are informed. 
You will report to the Head of Saab Aeronautics operationally and to Saab's Head of Group Communication functionally. You will be part of both the management team within Aeronautics and Group Communciation.
Your responsibilities will, amongst other things, include:

using effective communication as leverage to help win business
developing communication plans and activities within all disciplines to all stakeholders
enforcing content in our communication channels
consulting in matters related to the area of communication
developing messages about Aeronautics business offers
supporting the Head of Aeronautics with internal and external communication
developing managers and leaders' ability to communicate
brand strategy implementation
marketing communication, including events, collaterals et cetera
budgetary and personnel responsibility for a team within your function
the Visitor Team taking care of around 3000 guests per year 

You are responsible to lead and develop this function in close cooperation with other parts of Aeronautics, Saab's market organisations and Group Communication teams such as Press Centre, Digital, Brand and Event. It is important to have an effective organisation utilising modern tools and methods to reach both our external and internal stakeholders. 
 

Your skills and experience
We believe that you have a relevant university education or equivalent, experience of similar senior positions, preferably within an international company. You have successfully conducted external and internal communication work – both on strategic and operational levels. You are familiar with the concept of communicative leadership and have great command of tools and methods that can be used to strengthen the communication skills of executives and managers. You also have experience of change management, a good financial understanding and interest in the business and products. As a leader you are humble and have experience of managing, developing and motivating people. You are an excellent communicator in Swedish and English, orally and in writing, as well as having a strong ability to establish good relationships both externally and internally. You have the skills required to adapt your speed to the prevailing circumstances. 
Interest in technology is a plus, hence we work with highly advanced products. 
Person with well documented leadarship skills combined with engineering background or industry knowledge, with interest in the field of communication, also carries relevant qualifications. 
As a member of Aeronautics General Management team you must have proven an interest and motivation in strategic management issues and therefor activily contribute in managment work so Aeronautics can reach its longterm goals.
