Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions (SMF) is a business area segment within Sandvik Group with around 1500 people worldwide incorporating the three divisions of Design & Planning Automation, Additive Manufacturing and Metrology. Right now, we’re looking for an experienced, business minded and forward-thinking Communications Manager to join us in a stimulating position - where you have the strategic and operational responsibility for the business area segment’s internal and corporate communications. The job
As Head of Communications for SMF, you take part in the development of our business strategy and ensure clear and inspirational communication of the strategy. To meet the challenge of balancing a yearly communication plan with timely and accurate communication actions in times of change and other urgent matters, you constantly stay tuned with the organization’s needs and demands. This includes the whole spectra, from editorial functions, channel management, brand governance, change- and crisis communication, management support and communication training, as well as support to and coordination with the Sandvik Group’s communication and investor relations functions.
You’re also important connection towards the communications community, and you lead the SMF Communications’ functional management network – bringing internal and corporate communication representatives across three divisions together to share information and to accommodate common communication activities. To ensure alignment with the Group’s common strategy and communication activities, you’re also a member of the Sandvik Group Communication Council and the Brand Council.

You report to the President of Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions, have a dotted line to Sandvik Group’s Executive Vice President and Head of Group Communications and actively contribute in SMF management team. Location for this role is preferably Stockholm, Sweden, but other locations can also be considered for the right candidate. Global travel is a natural part of the job.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with an academic background within communication and – more importantly – an extensive working career within this field. You have a successful history of coaching people in an international setting, as well as of working with management teams. You also have solid experience from leading communication projects and events, and a profound knowledge of communication planning, strategy, branding and change communication. As we act both locally and globally, your skills in Swedish and English must be exceptional, both verbally and in writing.
Your personality truly makes the difference! With a great business acumen, you easily build trust and utilize your networking skills to establish excellent stakeholder management. Collaboration, stakeholder management and customer relations are your success factors, and you capture opportunities and generate new ideas without losing track of our direction. You’re curious and humble enough to ask questions to gain a wider comprehension for the complexity and technical details of our operations, in order to break it down into adequate communication actions. With a strategic and holistic view, you respond timely on business requirements and act on both urgent, short-term and long-term objectives.
