CPA Software & Diagnostics is part of Technology, a function within Volvo Group Digital & IT with a big stake in the Group’s digital transformation. Technology will modernize Volvo Group’s core digital backbone making it a platform for digital products.
CPA Software & Diagnostics is responsible for core IT solutions supporting development and deployment of vehicle software end to end. The IT solutions are used throughout the value chain, from R&D, to manufacturing and aftermarket. Our digital talents develop capabilities and digital technologies to improve business performance and create value for the Volvo Group with speed and at scale.
We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Group Digital & IT and with Truck Divisions, Business Areas and Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.
This is how you could make an impact
As the Head of CPA Vehicle Software – R&D, you will be key in our digital transformation and lead the team providing platform and digital core capabilities in the Manufacturing value stream.
You will be part of the CPA Software and Diagnostics Management Team and report to the Head of CPA Software and Diagnostics. These will be some selected responsibilities:
Be instrumental in designing our transformational journey from IT applications to Platform as a Service by working closely with our R&D value stream and identifying the right capabilities to transform
Work with the Modernization team to prioritize the right simplification and modernization and manage the lifecycle of the digital capability’s vs the applications
Work with stakeholders to perform and align on the transform agenda
Mindset and Competence:
5-10 years of experience with Digital & IT
Prior knowledge of Vehicle Software in the aftermarket context
You have failed and overcome difficulties and learned from mistakes
You have experience from driving change in a global environment
You can attract, develop, and support talents
You have demonstrated a growth and learning mindset in yourself and supporting it in others
You are willing and ready to explore and own work outside a traditional job description box.
Your background

We also consider a software development or customer success background who wants to take the next step and take the lead a suitable background. Adding to this you also have a relevant university degree.
We believe that this role requires solid communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people and teams. If you have worked with partnership and negotiating Win-win deals from long term perspective or have worked on proactive measures to drive sustainable quality this will be considered as a strong merit.
