SAS Crew Planning
Crew planning is responsible for scheduling and manning of all flying personnel. Under normal conditions with about 1000 departures daily from 3 different hubs, it is a highly complex process finding the optimal balance of productivity, traffic robustness and crew lifestyle while ensuring government regulations and labor agreements are met. Crew planning is a fundamental function part of SAS, with a direct impact on our ability to fly our aircraft.
The purpose is to increase productivity by distributing traffic to multiple production platforms, each with its own unique advantages depending on the traffic program chosen.
Within this context, Crew planning has been transformed into a central Operations expert function providing its services to all platforms within the SAS brand, in a way similar to an external supplier serving multiple customers.

Main responsibilities
Manage the Crew Planning organization to ensure manning of all flights for applicable production platforms within SAS Group (according to SLA).
Drive development of the Crew Planning organization and function within Operational Planning Services.
Provide relevant insights and direction regarding CBA discussions from an operational perspective
Establish and drive long term strategic direction of development of Crew Planning including capabilities, tools, and processes
Work in close collaboration with other members of the Operational Planning Services Management Team and relevant Flight Operations Team, to ensure that the planning of crew meets expectations and follows direction of budget responsibilities and SLA’s.


Qualifications and requirements
We believe that you have relevant experience as a manager and leading other managers
5 -8 years relevant track record in analytical/strategic fields and complex stakeholder environments
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving ability; curiosity to delve into details to understand the bigger picture and ability to perform top-down analysis
Experience from the airline industry and airline operations is highly valuable
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, enabling executive level impact
Good capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint
Fluency in English and a Scandinavian language
Lowest level of education needed to manage the job: Master Degree, M.Sc. degree in the field of Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar

Result oriented and pragmatic while showing clear understanding of the complexity surrounding own area of responsibility and its implications on ability to deliver.

Ability to effectively switch between high level strategy and operative day-to-day topics.
Strong communicative stakeholder manager, with ability to lead and enthuse organization, high personal integrity and good networking skills and ability to effectively lead and coach others, both own direct reports and stakeholders.
