We believe that we are somewhat unique in the automotive world in that Customs is given a loud voice in all decision’s development, manufacturing, sourcing, and pricing.
As the Head of Customs Advisory, you will become the key person when it comes to our future (and current) products.
What you will do!
You will take the leadership role in the team “Customs Advisory” which will be consisting of about 10 experienced customs professionals. The team is new, and your first job will be to recruit the right talent for the team – either internally or externally.
The team will own all matters customs in connection with our products, i.e., vehicles, components, spare parts, projects.
The team will be responsible to drive tariff engineering with our Product Creation cluster, origin engineering with Procurement, Industrial Operations and Commercial Operations and drive valuation processes together with Finance, Tax and Commercial operations. The team will be tasked with developing our ability to confidently project duty consequences of decisions made and will own this ask going forward.
The aim of the team is to achieve our goals of “Zero wasted duties” meaning that any duty paid should be legally owed and all legal avenues of reducing this payment haves been explored and “Designed for Customs” meaning that all decisions in the company is adequately explored from a customs perspective before deciding.
You will be the responsible for setting the plan together with your team, executing and following up the plan. A key success factor will be your ability to grow your team members’ abilities and become embedded in the all the right fora for decisions.
You will be part of the management team of Volvo Cars’ Global Customs & Export Controls and will report to the Head of Global Customs & Export Controls.
