Data is a new function within Group IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and consumed through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Microsoft Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.
We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Group IT, with TD/BAs and Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.
In Analytics & BI we drive the delivery, focused on fulfilling the business needs within different data and analytics domains, in close collaboration with the key stakeholders and users.


This is how you could make an impact


As the Head of Business Areas Data, Analytics & BI, you will be key in how we enable value delivery from data and analytics of Business Areas: Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Buses, Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Energy. As well as innovate around analytics within this domain. You will continue to drive the journey towards transforming the deliveries towards an agile culture. Your team are analytics and BI experts within these business domains


These are some selected responsibilities
Create, deliver and manage data products within the Business Areas domains that enables value creation across the Volvo Group
Create, deliver and manage feature products focused on broad value delivery from data – Business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data provisioning
Empower and boost the delivery leadership teams enabling the transformation of Volvo Group towards a data driven company
Grow relationships with key stakeholders and users of Business Areas data and analytics
Co-create together with business areas and external partners to find opportunities for further development in the Area of Advanced Analytics and beyond.
Accelerate the growth of insights driven solutions and phase out of legacy for your selected Business areas together with your teams and in partnership with different functions on the Business areas side



Who are you?


We believe you want to take your career to the next level, working with amazing people around the world. To be successful in this position we believe you have a university degree or equivalent, and several years of experience from leading people, preferably within data & analytics.
In your previous roles, you have delivered value by creating state of the art analytic and BI applications for critical business usage and understand the latest development in the data management area and how this can be applied to Analytics & BI. Furthermore, it is beneficial if you have experience of defining the strategy within the data analytics area and manage the products and deliveries with a roadmap approach. You are experienced in driving the priority setting and planning cycle for the area, including overall capacity management and resource allocation. As the role requires a strong networker, you have experience from leveraging vendors and partners in a strategic way to reach shared objectives.
The right candidate will be able to think and act strategically but also to operate and implement change tactically when required, dealing effectively with ambiguity, and managing changing priorities. You should be passionate about driving strategic & technological transformation in a business focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact. This role requires solid communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people.
In addition to this, you are a passionate believer in continuous learning. You should feel energized by working both independently and interdependently, have proven skills in cross-functional collaboration and thrive in managing, foster, and enable both the perform and the transform angles of the job.
