The Head of Data Protection Business Support is a key role in ensuring that our Data Protection Program is translated into operations. By creating awareness, providing privacy advice to operations and by supporting in the documentation and review of processing activities, you will together with a team of Data Protection Coordinators reporting to you contribute to our ambition to be a leading premium car brand.
What You’ll Do
You will be a part of the Global Compliance & Ethics team within Volvo Cars and be located at Headquarters in Göteborg, Sweden. Your main responsibilities will be to:
* engage with all stakeholders throughout the global organization on data privacy matters, so as to ensure adherence and commitment
* support operations in translating our privacy principles into practical actions, and
* lead the Data Protection Coordinators in their task to provide tools and advice to the business organization and other staff functions.
You will more particularly focus on supporting operations with, inter alia:
* Advice on ensuring data protection by design / by default
* Data protection compliance checks and risk assessments
* Drafting privacy notices, ensuring their method of communication is appropriate
* Processing activities documentation
* Identify applicable law, qualification of roles under data protection law, identify and implement relevant data processing agreements
You will report to the Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer who has the overall responsibility for Data Protection matters and you will work closely with both the Data Protection Officer and the Head of Data Protection Compliance, who also are based in Göteborg.
Do you fit the profile?
You are a lawyer or an in-house counsel with minimum 8 years of experience with extensive data protection experience. In your professional life, you have carried a proven ability to develop and implement pragmatic data protection programs and strategies, and to provide high-quality advice in the fields of data protection.
You have a very high level of business acumen and technical knowhow that allows you to help the organization to find ways to use relevant data in a responsible way. You are able to translate our data protection policies into actions that deliver business value and drive change. Defining and solving complicated problems that require careful analysis and good judgement is something you excel at and thrive on.
For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you have a proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
You have leadership experience and is interested in leading and developing a team. You also have a proven ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and drive continuous improvements.
And, of course, you have a high level of integrity and strong personal character.
