The technology department has the role of a common function for the operational units as well as a staff function for the management of Boliden Mines. In the role of common function, Technology has a supporting function as well as a developing function to the operational units within Boliden Mines. The staff function has a mission to ensure that the methods and techniques used in the Boliden Mines comply with Boliden's standards. It also includes formulating the strategic direction for R&D and productivity for Boliden Mines. The technology department is an important link in Boliden mines' recruitment and development of engineers and managers.
Job duties
The department works with assignments and operational support for the various mining areas within several different technologies, such as:
Rock Mechanics
Mine planning and production control.
Development of methods for Drilling and Mechanical rock excavation.
Mining methods.
Explosive design and fragmentation.
Technology for back fill and product development of back fill materials.
Development of shotcrete and rock reinforcement systems.
Ventilation design.
Shaft sinking and technology for raise boring.

The department is also responsible for internal research and development, and links to initiatives outside Boliden, within the industry nationally and globally, to collaborate and to share information. These activities are all coordinated under the Rock Mechanics Program to maximize learnings, production and benefit. Mining Technology also carries out many projects on behalf of the Business Development and Exploration Departments when investigating new deposits.
Much of the work is carried out in the form of assignments and projects that are started in dialogue with the production units. Good knowledge of the needs of the business is important in this position, which is why it is important to build strong relationships with each production unit. Travel is included in the job, including trips to Ireland and Finland. The position is full-time permanent employment with stationing in Boliden.

We are looking for an experienced manager and leader who is business oriented with a focus on support and development of our production units. To succeed in the role, you are positive, initiative-taking, responsive and have a personality characterized by integrity and like to develop the department's employees. Education and qualifications:
Civil engineering degree or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. You must have practical experience from corresponding tasks as well as experience in leading industrial development work. We would like you to have good experience in project management. Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing is a requirement, knowledge of Finnish is an advantage. Driving license is a requirement.
