Volvo Group Design is the design function for the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US.
We are now looking for a skilled and passionate Head of Design Initiatives to join our Volvo Trucks design team located in Lundby, Gothenburg.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
As the Head of Design Initiatives Volvo Trucks within Volvo Group Design you get to work across many business areas, technology streams and other functions within the Volvo Group to translate business strategy and customer needs into viable and desirable commercial solutions. You lead or support scope setting and prioritization activities and strive to secure value through, planning, structure, working with processes and an Agile way of working to empower the team to deliver product design, Advanced deliveries, UX/UI coherence, Interior Design and Exterior Design all with a customer focus and human-centric ways of working.
You work across a wide range of areas of Design with a deep connection with external teams, where collaboration is key to deliver business models, engineering solutions and value propositions, future concepts and roadmaps, business cases and outcome definitions, customer/user research and analysis support, customer experience design, process facilitation, supporting strategies and structure to deliver Excellence in design.
We offer you an interesting role where you will collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to innovate, design, prototype and build solutions in a digital or physical world.
At Volvo Group Design you will work with skilled and passionate colleagues in all areas of design to bring premium products and services to the market.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or higher related to Engineering/Project Management/design/UX discipline or innovation/business management.
Minimum 12 years of industry experience.
Proven leadership abilities and passion for people.
A strong understanding of human-centered design and Design methodologies and the process from research to development.
Excellent background of experience with planning and conducting customer research.
Experience of strategy development.
Experience of stakeholder management, organizational change management and change process facilitation.
Proven and exemplary abilities to build networks and partnerships.
Knowledge and experience of facilitation tools and methods.
Visual communication and prototyping skills to create & communicate product, service, UX and business design artefacts and strategies.
Project management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English.
