The overall scope of the Head of Digital Appliance Integration is to drive globally, across Business Areas and Product Lines the integration of our appliances into our Connectivity Ecosystem.
The Connectivity Ecosystem comprises several digital products that are iterated constantly in an agile fashion by the owning product teams. Our physical appliances are developed according to a more traditional waterfall project methodology. Your and your team's goal will be to integrate the world of agile digital products with the physical products.
You will work in close connection with our products' R&D organization and you will have functional reports from R&D into your organization. You will drive commonality across the different products and categories and strive for standardization and reuse, whilst creating a superior Connected Consumer Experience.
The Head of Digital Appliance Integration will report to the Head of Group Digital Engineering.
Your main tasks:
As Head of Digital Appliance Integration you will drive the successful integration of the Electrolux appliances into our Connected Ecosystem and hence enable a superior consumer experience by creating and leading an organization of highly motivated and passionate technology professionals and engineers.
You will connect the Agile Ways of Working typical of Software products with the Waterfall-based Ways of Working typical of the Physical Appliances, allowing the latter to pass critical milestones, secure deliverables, without having the complete feature-set implemented in the digital products at a very early stage. You will constantly review and refine our current WOW and strive towards excellence.
You will influence the overall architecture of our Connected Ecosystem by working closely together with our Architecture team as well as with our products R&D. You will drive commonalities, alignment and standardization in the areas of data modeling, communication protocols, tools, appliances' behaviors, etc. You will contribute to, and work with global roadmap planning and implementation. You will translate user requirements into specific technical solutions.
You will work and collaborate in an international environment with multiple global and regional product teams, competence centres and experts. You will build and maintain internal and external networks( e.g. external suppliers, institutes, universities, etc.).
Your key priority will always be to deliver a scalable and superior digital experience for our consumers.
You will inspire, mentor, and motivate your team. You are responsible for the technical excellence of the team including recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent
You will drive technology innovation in your area.
Qualifications:
• MSc. or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent field. Candidates with a BSc degree in combination with additional relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum ten years of broad and relevant software and firmware development experience and five years of management or leadership experience
• Industry background from home appliances not necessary, but any experience from IoT and platforms/ecosystems beneficial.
• Deep knowledge in architectural principles for mobile applications, cloud-based backend services and edge computing
• Knowledge of and experience from applying Agile (Scrum, Lean, Kanban) software development processes and tools
• Previous experience in a large international environment with different cultures and geographically distributed
• Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking to contribute in Strategy development and interaction with Business Stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills in setting clear individual goals and direction for others, clarifying priorities, and taking decisions for the business always engaging and inspiring individuals
• Experience of leading through leaders
• Identify and develop talent in individuals encouraging their development and growth.
• Demonstrates tenacity and focus by continuously striving to reach goals driving the business forward.
• Strong networking and communications skills to build and maintain useful networks both inside and outside the organization and to encourage and promote cross-collaboration and diversity to create greater business success.
