We talk about setting the industry standard and we’re both passionate and committed when it comes to health and safety, quality and sustainability. We play fair, build circularity and champion people, and together we make the shift towards a more sustainable world. Do you share our passion?

For Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology and division Rock Tools, we’re looking for a brave, open-minded and agile Head of EHS and Quality. We have recently formed a new and autonomous Global Operations organization, and we’re now ready to take the next step. In this highly important role, we offer you a great chance to make an impact on our business and in areas that truly matter. If you want to be part of something new and feel the pulse of a global industrial frontrunner filled with brilliant minds, you should definitely keep reading!

Ready for an exciting challenge?
Health and safety, quality and sustainability are essential to us and we mean it. It will become a major game changer when doing business and we aim to be the best of the best. Take a moment and listen to what our President has to say in this video. So, we’re not just talking about creating an activity plan - we want to build a strong culture that generates true value, and we want everyone onboard. Are you up for the job?

You’re the one to show us world-class when it comes to a safety-first culture, a healthy workplace, quality assurance through our product design, realization and delivery and how to become an industry leader in sustainability.

What about your everyday job?
You have the strategic responsibility of setting our global roadmap by capturing needs and driving value-adding campaigns throughout the organization – creating actions that truly raise the bar in our quest towards world-class. By using analytics and fact-based approaches to measure and drive our sustainability work, you create an educational shift and a strong awareness, and you support decision-making closely linked to our business objectives. You set out to get our entire organization to both understand and sign off on what it takes to be industry leaders in safety and sustainability. In terms of quality assurance, you dig deep into processes and structures to find improvements and new perspectives. Naturally, you also provide guidance and support, and you plan and engage in various task forces and audits across our operations.

You’re a valued member of the management team for Global Operations; a courageous and action-driven group of collaborators that truly believes in the power of a safe, quality assured and sustainable business. Your scope also includes driving these important areas across our entire Rock Tools division by tight collaboration with many different networks and other important stakeholders.

You have your own small and global team to coach and inspire, and you travel frequently to our production units worldwide. You’re located at one of our major hubs in either Sandviken or Västberga, Stockholm (Sweden), although we do want your presence in Sandviken on a weekly basis.

Your experience is important, and your personality is what makes you great!
We assume that your career includes similar roles within the industry sector, either working globally or with a line responsibility. You have deep knowledge in at least one of the areas of health and safety, quality or sustainability, and both the will and ability to learn the others. Your passion to make a true impact helps you challenge us and look at new possible ways of working, and you’re convincing in your approach. Working in an international, cross-country environment suits you very well, and your flexible and open-minded attitude is a great tool when facing people from different cultures. This means that you also need to be fluent in English, while we consider Swedish as beneficial.

Your leadership style is honest and inspiring, and you’re very skilled at motivating people and driving change through networks. Collaboration and support are your cornerstones, and you know what to prioritize and what connections you need to establish to achieve results. All in all, you’re a strategic initiator rather than someone who just manage existing structures.

At Sandvik, we believe in finding that perfect mix between work, family life and interests, and we happily support our employees in balancing this. For us, it’s also clear that diversity of experience, perspective and background forms an amazing foundation for achieving great results.
