About the job
In this position, your main mission is to develop, implement and manage our global EHS & sustainability strategy. You work very closely with stakeholders in each division and business unit managers, including acquired companies. You actively support us in breaking down the sustainability strategy into activities and advise on what initiatives and themes we should prioritize to stay ahead within this area. You’re also responsible for the sustainability aspects in relevant policy and strategy documents, and you act as the expert for the BA in EHS or sustainability related questions. By collaborating with our business management, working closely with Group EHS Council and dealing with executives, advisors and various key stakeholders – such as Additive Manufacturing - you ensure that goal and targets are anchored in the business to achieve the best results. You engage our division and management teams and prepare material to support the execution of our EHS and sustainability agenda including setting targets in line with Sandvik’s commitment to Science Based targets initiative (SBTi) Your understanding of strategic goal and the ability to collect information and draw conclusions enables you to guide the business in the right direction; ensuring that a sustainable business also is a business advantage for our company.
In this position, you report to the Vice President and Head of HR for Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions, and you can be based in Sandviken and/or Stockholm. Our headquarters are at brand new offices in ‘Gasverket’ in central Stockholm and frequent travel is included in this role.
About you
We’re looking for someone with extensive knowledge and expertise in the area of EHS or sustainability who can take on this responsibility and work hands-on and independently from the start. We would like to see that you have experience or knowledge from the manufacturing industry. Any knowledge of the software or digital manufacturing industry is of course beneficial, and we value a relevant academic degree. You’re used to working in a dynamic setting, and you comfortably manage a large number of internal and external stakeholders. We operate worldwide, and you must be both aware and open-minded towards the cultural differences you encounter. This also means that you need great communication skills and that you’re fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
You’re investigative, collaborative and flexible, and you combine this with a strategic outlook and the ability to promptly take action. You’re used to working independently and have the ability and experience of networking and communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You inspire change and follow up on our targets and goals set by the strategic agenda; making smart recommendations and challenging us to look at different perspectives.
