IHead of Engineering
We are recruiting for a seasoned and highly motivated Head of Engineering, who promotes innovation and teamwork and who will be instrumental in the transformation of SAS. This is a significant position to work with an industry leading operation that can offer a challenging environment and personal growth. The Head of Engineering is a member of CAMO management team and reports directly to VP Techops NPCA, As the Head of Engineering you will lead by example, motivating the team leaders and creating opportunities for to make their ideas heard so that every employee feels, that they are making a difference and having an impact.
Responsibilities
- Secure airworthy, safe and economical operation of the fleet under the civil aviation regulations imposed by e.g. EASA Part CAMO and Ops
- Ensure that strategic, tactical as well as financial targets are met by adequate and transparent communication required by providing visibility, predictability and timely deliverables
- Secure cross functional coordination and follow-up within CAMO and with internal and external touch points
- Delegated formal and organizational accountability for prescribed duties and responsibilities of Engineering
- Leadership responsibility for 44 full time employees
- Delegated budget responsibility for contracted maintenance budget, and engineering department staff cost
The Role
- Provide leadership and coaching to a team of 44 engineers
- Secure development, revision and approval of individual aircraft type maintenance programs
- Secure reliability and maintenance program effectiveness analysis and follow up based on in service and maintenance data
- Secure that all applicable maintenance requirements imposed by manufacturers and authorities are implemented
- Secure acquisition of approved maintenance data for all maintenance, repairs and modifications accomplished on our client’s aircraft
- Secure preparation of job cards for P145 organizations
You Will Also
- Secure individual aircraft configuration management and control.
- Secure correspondence with manufacturers and authorities.
- Secure Engineering support as applicable (in coordination with P145 support engineering) to daily operation of aircraft.
- Secure timely management of safety, audit, quality and ARC reports and follow up that appropriate corrective actions are implemented and effective.
- Secure appropriate staff resources and competence through assessment, training, and process confirmation
- Secure that effective processes, procedures and communication practices are in place to underpin cross functional coordination and ways of working to achieve set targets for the respective fleets and engines/APU
- Secure establishment and follow up of contracted maintenance cost budget and life cycle cost for airlines fleet, including its engines/APU, with support from Contracts, Maintenance Planning & Control, and in close collaboration with the Business Control function development of shop floor management to ensure compliance with pre-determined key performance indicators (KPI’s)

To be successful, we believe you should have:
- University degree in Aircraft Engineering mandatory (Master degree preferred) with
- Minimum 5 years experience in an airline engineering team
- Minimum 5 years of relevant management experience
- Practical experience from leading complex organizations at a strategic and tactical level
- Experience in Data Analytics, Skywise is a plus
- Experience in digitalization transformations is a plus and possess knowledge of
- EASA Part CAMO and Ops regulations
- Safety management and quality systems
- In depth Aircraft Technical Knowledge obtained in a relevant type course
- Business understanding and analysis at a strategic and tactical level
- Practical application of lean tools
- Budget processes and cost control
- AMOS MIS advanced level

As this position requires occasional work airside, to be eligible for this position you must be able to pass a security test including a background check and limited travel is to be expected as part of the job.
