Job Description
The Payments product area is responsible for all payment-related capabilities across the H&M Group, in our stores and across our digital channels. This includes the technology supporting offline & online payment methods. Our focus is both card payments as well as alternative payment methods. We are operating in 74 markets globally.
What you will do as Product Area Lead Engineer
You will co-lead the product area, consisting of 11 product teams (approximately 80 people), together with the Product Area Manager.
Focus for the Product Area Lead Engineer is to be accountable for the Product Area’s technical architecture and engineering practices. Using your Payments and engineering experience, you will be a catalyst for technical innovation, modernization of our technical landscape, and drive the engineering culture on Product Area level.
Furthermore, you will:
Enable fact-based technology discussions, to reach desired business effect/goals and architectural vision
Provide hands-on technical guidance to product teams including supporting system/design/code reviews
Be responsible for people evaluation of Engineering Competency Leads
Own the technology lifecycle management and API catalogue in the product area including the definition, creation, and maintenance of technical interfaces / APIs in the product area that are exposed by the teams in the area.
Work with enabling platform teams to secure efficient usage of common technology platforms
Be responsible for the overall work environment for your team
Qualifications
As a Product Area Lead Engineer, you have a passion for tech and modern software development and engineering practices.
You bring broad experience working with implementing and optimizing payments technology in global, consumer-oriented organizations. You have deep technical knowledge around payment solutions and cloud technologies, and you are interested in current and upcoming tech trends in the area. We believe you have following skills:
You have proven leadership skills and can easily lead an organization unit with 50+ employees.
Have a minimum 7 years of experience working with payment solutions.
Have broad technical experience from software engineering working with developing, running, and scaling cutting-edge technology solutions and platforms.
Have deep understanding and experience of Agile product development (e.g., DevSecOps)
Have developed, shipped, and maintained several successful digital products over the years
Are able to explain and articulate tech solutions and bring together multiple stakeholders and business partners, both internal and external, to execute on a common mission.
Experience working with many suppliers and helping define strategies on what should be in-sourced vs out-sourced.
Know how to formulate solid business cases for technology initiatives.
Have a deep understanding of Solution Architecture, API architecture and design and Data and Information Architecture.
Great knowledge within Payment regulations and legislations.
