The CIO Office at Sandvik is a strategic part of our IT organization, with the mission to ensure a commonality within strategic areas of IT throughout the Sandvik Group. We’re now looking for a Head of Enterprise Architecture – someone who truly understands how IT architecture supports our everyday work and overall success.

About the role and department
In this position, you’re leading a team of enterprise architects at our CIO Office. The purpose of the Enterprise Architect (EA) function is to enable, facilitate and drive agile and controlled business change, to maximize business value from information technology by:
Setting directions, developing roadmaps and driving changes to mandatory and common business- and IT capabilities
Providing the means to achieve transparency and visibility of dependencies across Sandvik, for current states and future plans
Developing, maintaining and communicating the federated operating model for IT at Sandvik – participating in governance fora’s and maintaining the Sandvik Way and its delimitations of mandatory/common vs. shared/unique
Driving architecture-related collaboration across Sandvik
Identifying and communicating deviations in order to enable compliance with mandatory rules under the Sandvik IT policy
The focus is to ensure that IT solutions are fit for our current and future business, rather than driven by siloed optimization of individual landscape components. You work to create a culture of innovation within the technology team – to add business value, reduce complexity, and drive competitive advantage. The objective is to progress the leveraging of technology advancements in order to improve products, processes and services, by bringing a tech dimension in business challenge discussions.
Your responsibility
Lead the EA function of our CIO office, in the areas of Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Solutions Architecture, Technical Architecture, and Security Architecture
Own the governance and improvement of the EA processes and lifecycle across the enterprise
Deliver expertise and counsel at a senior executive level to ensure that technology teams and businesses understand the architectural options and technology choices in support of business initiatives
Research and analyze business requirements to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions within technology architecture
Apply industry or technical knowledge to provide solutions that increase business results and/or minimize risk
Apply knowledge of business requirements and architecture to contribute to an architecture framework, including technology architecture strategy, policies, guiding principles, and standards
Own and implement architectural guidelines and guardrails
Take part in our EA Council and drive strategic decisions across our Business Areas for mandatory and common areas.
Manage EA principles, and monitor and report architecture adherence and exceptions
Manage EA master data, methods and templates
Consolidate cross-functional target state alignment and iterate platform and offering strategies
Coach and instill architectural thinking, awareness and knowledge sharing
Coach enterprise architects in our Business Areas
You report to the Sandvik Group CIO and your based in either Stockholm or Sandviken. Some international travel is a natural part of your job during normal circumstances.
Your profile
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, IT or other relevant area
Proven experience within business architecture, information architecture, solutions architecture (5+ years from multiple functional areas and technology platforms), technical architecture (5+ years) and security architecture
Proven experience within business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
Proven track record of developing people and organizations
Knowledge within cloud architecture and transformation (preferably multi cloud)
Understanding of APIs and integration (various integration patterns)
Understanding of big data and Advanced Analytics
Business process knowledge from the manufacturing industry (sales, R&D, supply chain and finance)
Understanding and a curiosity of existing, new and emerging technologies
Experienced storyteller
Financial acumen/financial modeling/accounting and experience in vendor relationship management
Fluent written and spoken English.
