Summary

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute seeks candidates for the position as Head of Finance (HoF) to our head office in Lund.

 

The HoF takes responsibility for all areas of finance, providing robust financial reporting and impactful business insights and contributes in line with the Institute´s values, mission and  vision. The HoF will report to the Deputy Director/Head of Finance and Administration and assume an operative, as well as strategic role in the overall management of the Institute.


The HoF is managing the departement of Finance, which currently consists of two (2) staff members, one Accountant and one Accounting Assistant/Payroll administrator.    


This is a full-time position with an expected start date between 9-16 May 2022. 

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities


• Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met;
• Recruit, maintain and developing staff within the Financial department;
• Providing advice and support on financial issues, to Management and Units/Offices;
• In consultation with the Deputy Director manage and invest the institute’s cash assets, according to instructions from the Board of Trustees;
• Responsible for development of systems for financial and payroll administration as well as for development of reporting models;
• Responsible for correct reporting of tax and VAT;
• Responsible for creating and updating budgets and forecasts for the institute, as well as monthly and annual reports;
• Produce the Annual Report (årsredovisning inkl. förvaltningsberättelse); 
• Produce other financial reports to the management and the Board; 
• Compile necessary documentation for audit, both for the institute and for project audit;
• Responsible for contacts with auditors, bank and tax and other legal authorities regarding financial and payroll matters.

 

Required skills


• Bachelor's degree in business administration or economics, a minimum of 5 years documented experience in a senior role
• Minimum 3 years managerial experience, including staff supervision
• Solid knowledge of Swedish accounting standards and tax laws
• Fluent in Swedish with good Business English communication skills
• Good understanding of financial principles and excellent Excel skill
• Documented experience in and high ability of using and adopting financial software systems

 

Preferred skills


• Experience of working in different business sectors
• Experience of using Maconomy software
