What you will be a part of
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
We now seek a Head of Controlling to our Research and Development department.
The department is responsible for Aeronautics R&D operations, including technology studies, concept development, development of system solutions including support during the product life cycle. The department employ today 1400 people. A major part of the project portfolio is today Gripen related.
You will be responsible for the Controlling, Planning, Estimate & Risk section which has an overall responsibility for the department bid estimates, planning, resource planning, line controlling, risk management and work environment coordiation. The section is a part of the department project office which has a overall coordination responsibility for the operations within the department.



Your role
As head of controlling within Aeronautics R&D you will be given the opportunity to play an important role in the organisational and operational development of the department.
Together with your team you will

monitor and control financial aspects of the R&D operations
initiate actions to improve financial performance in order to close gap to reach targets.
manage resource planning
coordinate bid estimates
coordinate risk management and business contingency management
be responsible for the scenario planning of the department
monitor and control the operations through various key performance indicators

You will be the chairman of governance and coordination meetings within the department and act within various improvement programs.
Your team consists today of four professionals that will assist you in improving financial, estimating and controlling aspects of the R&D operations.
You will be an appreciated member of the R&D management team and report to the R&D Project Office with a dotted line to Aeronautics finance department.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a person with strong analytical and communication skills combined with a clear focus on people.
To be successful in this position it is important to have an analytic and pedagogical ability to explain financial causation. You work in a systematic manner and towards targets. Through your working experience and personal characteristics you have developed a clear leadership. As a person you are communicative and enjoys coaching and developing team members and colleagues.
It is plus if you have a finance educational background.
